Pre-Conference Workshop: CIC ® Virtual Preparation Course

Designed for those preparing to take the CIC exam or recertification exam, this interactive course will teach the fundamental concepts of IPC practice and provide test preparation tips, strategies, and practice questions. Access guidance for developing a personal study plan and identify test-taking strategies.

Please note: This class will not teach IPC basics. It will help attendees develop familiarity with the CIC exam content and structure and will help develop confidence for taking the exam

Program Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Describe key concepts and competencies of IPC practice as defined in the CBIC content outline.
  • Discuss how examination questions are constructed.
  • Describe the steps in the certification process.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to analyze different types of exam questions working with peers and guided by expert IPs.
  • Identify strategies to assist with test-taking and development of study plans.

Accreditation and Contact Hours

Attendees will be able to earn 7.25 contact hours for this activity.

APIC is accredited with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accredidation (ANCC). 

To receive your credit hours, you must complete all program components as listed above, including the program evaluation online. Course evaluations will be available via an online link provided in course materials. The evaluation must be completed within 30 days.

Accredited status does not imply endorsement by APIC or the American Nurses Credentialing Center of any commercial products displayed or discussed in conjunction with an educational activity. While APIC is approved to provide contact hours, APIC’s educational programs may be eligible for continuing education units from other accrediting bodies. Cancellation Policy

A $75 cancellation fee will be charged to all cancelled registrations. Cancellations must be in writing and received via fax or email no later than 5 business days prior to the start of the course. No refunds or credits/transfers will be granted after this deadline. Participants who are “no shows” will not be granted a refund or credit/transfer of registration fees. Please submit cancellation requests to education@apic.org or via fax to (202) 789-1899.

Please note: Registration fees may only be transferred to the same course within the same calendar year based on space availability.
